MEET ASIA
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
As a long-time Garden Grove resident, Asia Nguyen Cunningham seeks to serve you on the City Council. Asia has deep roots in our community and attended Garden Grove public elementary, middle and high schools. She earned her B.S. in Applied Ecology and Environmental Analysis from the University of California, Irvine.

Asia has had the privilege of serving as your Planning Commissioner and proud of the developments achieved during her tenure: the opening of Sprouts, restaurants, tourist attractions, and initiating the Nickelodeon Resort.
​
As a CEO and successful business owner of 19 years, Asia has in-depth knowledge of corporate governance, general management best practices, and competency in budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
​
Asia also formerly served as the interim District Director for California State Senator Lou Correa in District 34rd. She has extensive liaison experience with Local, State, Federal officials, and community-based organizations to form an effective supporting network in providing public services to all constituents. During this time, Asia has also served as the Director of Volunteer Services for Orange County's Youth (OCsY). OCsY is a nonprofit organization that inspires High School and College students through volunteer and civic engagement.
Asia received Congressional Recognition Award for "Excellence in Civic Engagement," and she also received numerous commendations from the Association of the United States Army.
Since 1994, Asia has been a dedicated Vietnamese American Board of Registration Drive member. She has been responsible for representing the voices of the Vietnamese voters in Orange County and mobilizing them to make their voices heard and votes count. Asia has also served as a Vietnamese - American liaison in close collaboration with public officials in assisting the diverse and under-served communities encompassing Little Saigon and the greater Orange County area.

City government should be transparent and inclusive. If elected, Asia will listen to your concerns and work every day to advocate for District 3 to attract good jobs, and businesses.
She is committed to improving neighborhoods, alleviating homelessness, keeping our community safe, supporting economic development, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.

Asia accepts no donations because she is accountable only to you, the residents of Garden Grove.
